Privileged? Yes. I think I’m very much privileged in a hell lot of stuff and some of which I don’t even realize that I am privileged in that particular aspect.
Half of the world’s problems, I feel, are because of the ignorance of people who are privileged and don’t realize that they are exerting their superiority over the others. But one thing I’m sure of is, everyone is under someone in this whole world and when all hell comes to you, you realize what a dick you’ve been to all the others around you over the course of all the years passed.
Coming to me, the most bothering privilege I have right now is being a male in a society that doesn’t consider women as their equal. Many a times, I’ve wondered about where it all started and is there something I could be doing to turn the tides the other way, but honestly, I couldn’t even come close to even a substantial reason for this behaviour, let alone a vague solution. It’s saddening that Men nowadays (strike nowadays, have never since Stone Age) don’t even realize that they do things that might not seem problematic to them but deep down it is creating a disturbing pattern where the younger lot of the boys also inculcate the same behaviour and prolong this inhumane treatment towards our counterparts.
