Today in this episode of Movie Snippets, I will recommend the movie Sicario by Dennis Villeneuve.
An intense revenge drama of a lawyer turned assassin who helps the CIA on their mission to eliminate the drug lord of Mexico.
Cinematography by the master Roger Deakins is noteworthy. The bridge scene at the beginning of the movie when the CIA gets their man from Mexico on their way back to their base camp in the US is one of the most tension-building scenes brilliantly edited by Joe Walker.
Benicio Del Toro as Alejandro is elegant and mysterious. The lead character Emily Blunt’s Kate Macer is an observer who is just as clueless about what’s happening around her and the whole story is a revelation to us through her.
I expected a little more from this movie after getting blown off my mind after watching Incendies by the same director.
