Here I am, a year after writing one of my better-written blog posts (you can read it by clicking here if you haven’t read it yet), sitting in the same place with absolutely no progress whatsoever in terms of “Living the life” and in my writing career.
I had previously advised about taking up three habits: one to make you money… one to keep you in shape… and one to be creative in life. Well, the fact is, I failed miserably in implementing those things and I don’t feel bad about it, because somewhere at the back of my mind, I knew, that I was just writing it down for the sake of people who’d read my post and appreciate me for putting up something that’s so obvious in general but oblivious to everyone’s minds.
“ Fake it until you make it”
I deliberately added the tag ‘Writer’ along with my name on almost every other social media profile of mine. That is because of a thing that I read from somewhere to “ Fake it until you make it”. I want to be associated with the tag of a writer as of now and predominantly at this stage of my life. I love telling stories or writing about life and the ways of living it and I feel that this activity ticks me more than anything else. But I feel, I don’t live up to the expectations of me being a writer as I hardly write and make an attempt to get better at it. I feel like I am taking the whatever little readership I have for granted.
One thing for the next year:
Leaving aside the things that don’t add up to the gist of the post, I feel that the desideratum to talk about mental health and stability is now and it should be adhered to by everyone.
People now, around the ages of 18–35, are the most vulnerable bunch of humans in this fast-paced world, who are going through plenty of stuff in their lives and are subject to a shitload of mental stress in their pursuit to win the Rat Race Championship. In that process of undergoing a hell lot of stress, a majority of them are able to handle it without much ado, a few others somehow get back to their usual after being down for some time.
But there are a few cases or a few incidents that some people experience in their lives that could cause a huge impact on someone’s mental stability and the decent flow of their daily routine. People get disappointed for no reason and may undergo multiple instances of self-reproach about things that they have no control of. Overthinking and negativity sink in and it makes it hard, both to the sufferer and the ones around him to sustain a peaceful life.
This is when the person needs the utmost love, care and a sense of understanding from the near and dear ones in every aspect possible. Be it friends, family or even if you’re a stranger, please take the initiative to make sure that the person you’re talking to is not to be left behind without being provided with any help.
These kinds of things can happen to anyone around you — the one from the office, the graduate student in the neighbouring flat, or the waitress from the cafe you visit every now and then. There need not be any specific reason for people to get depressed or feel low about themselves or their lives. It can be about something as simple as not getting work done from the local municipal office or something as devastating as getting heartbroken by a loved one.
If you, the person who’s reading this, are going through something in life. Please take some time for yourself and start figuring out things. Talk to people about your fears or insecurities or anything that’s bothering you in life and if you’re someone with no friends, you can always reach out to me at my email. I can’t promise you of recovery or relief from stress but putting out things might lighten the burden that you’re carrying.
Don’t miss out on a chance to ask someone if they are fine and doing well in life. You needn’t be an expert to help someone dealing with shit in their life, the best thing you can do is give them your time and the assurance to be available to them whenever they need you. People might not open up to you in the first attempt but persist on talking to them and get a clear understanding of what they are going through and make a conscious effort to help them. (P.S: More tips about how to deal with Mental Health here )
Some people recover after talks with their loved ones, some with time and therapy and there are hundred per cent chances that eventually everyone will be fine and free from mental stress, which is what the world needs and more importantly what the humankind needs.
My one theme and the line to stand by for the year 2019 and for the years to come by, is to be there for one another and never let anyone feel lonely or distressed about their life.
Everyone’s fighting their struggles but yeah, please assist someone in making them ready to fight for themselves too.
