A letter to a fellow human on the internet.

Dear Fellow Human,

I hope you are doing well in your life. Even if you’re not now, I wish for you to have the strength to tackle the situations in life and come out stronger than ever.

We’ve all grown up in just the era when the technology which used to aid us previously is now engulfing our lives altogether. I don’t really know if this is the tipping point for us to see even worse things in the coming future.

We’re all on a platform that is used for putting ourselves out into society or primarily, the internet. Some of us are so shy in real life that we need the cushion of social media accounts to put forth our views to the others out there. Be it posting a confident selfie in our work attires or flaunting the newly purchased accessory that enhances our beauty or just letting know of our opinions about on-going issues in the world around us.

We do this not to please others but to feel good about ourselves. It’s okay if you don’t like the kind of posts or showcasing that someone does but please do not degrade their efforts to socialise or curb their need to be free and confident both in real and their online life.

Most importantly, let’s make it a point to stop bullying or denigrating someone for their choices in their lives. We do not have the right to do that. Not everyone is strong enough to take blows from people. You might be a complete stranger but any offensive action of yours, done either knowingly or unknowingly, might affect someone and could totally unsettle their lives to whatever extent it might ultimately be.

There are always two sides to a coin and similarly, every story has two sides — ours and theirs. Both sides do not have to mean the same thing for everyone to be happy and peaceful in life. We can agree to disagree upon certain things and just move ahead in life. Do not thrust your views on the opposite person. If possible try to explain things harmoniously and if the person is not willing to budge, please let them be and mind your own business for your own mental health.

Also, amidst all this chaos, let’s not forget that our planet needs help and we have to put our best foot forward in the next few years so that we can sustain life on the earth for the future generations. Let’s try and do our bit at every opportunity available to us and maybe if we all can put up a hand every time there is a chance to do something, then maybe we all could just bring about a change for good. Fingers crossed.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year and I hope you have a wonderful year ahead with loads of new experiences, happiness and good health.

Regards,

Your Fellow Human
